Entry 5 - A Note of Reassurance

Hello,  

The idea of writing a poem as a blog never really crossed my mind until quite recently. 

It surprisingly came from the habit of reading into song lyrics. Simply the Lyric Genius feature on Spotify when you flick up the screen. I did try have a look at a very minimal amount of long form poetry but that really didn’t stick. 

I have written poems before so it is not something completely alien to me. I thought it was worth trying. The way I see it, poetry is painting with words. Much like painting itself, the best part about poetry is there really are no rules.

The freedom of being able to write creatively gives the feeling that anything is possible. It requires elements of confidence to execute with aplomb, original taste and positivity.  

The topic covered was not what I expected either but it just came out of me when I sat down to write so I just went with it.

I thought it would at the very least connect with others on varying levels and continue to demonstrate that we are all alike in so many ways. 

I don’t have any immediate plans to try something like this again but for now I am happy to leave this for interpretation.
